Zonneveld Design provides a full range of drafting and design services, from basic 2D AutoCAD drawings to advanced 3D CAD modeling with SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or FreeCAD. With a specialization in heavy fabrication design, I can deliver shop drawings, assemblies with complete BOMs, sheet metal developments, and DXF files for laser, HDP, or waterjet cutting. I’m equally comfortable creating designs from scratch or producing shop drawings from consultant-supplied plans.

Your project will benefit from my strong background in engineering and machine design, along with years of experience as an engineering manager. I don’t just follow instructions—I work to improve designs so they’re easier to manufacture, more cost-effective, and built to last. Have an idea for a new invention? I can help with patent drawings, 3D models, renderings, and prototypes.

The first step is always a patent search. Start with a quick Google and image search, then I can assist with a more detailed U.S. and European classification search.

If your idea looks unique, the next move is filing a Provisional Patent Application (PPA). A PPA secures your filing date, lets you use “Patent Pending,” and gives you one year to test the market before filing a full patent application.

I’m happy to sign an NDA, and while I’m not a patent agent or lawyer, I have extensive experience preparing and filing PPAs at a fraction of traditional costs. My goal is to help you protect your idea and move forward with confidence.

3D Printing and prototyping is an important step along the product development path. It provides an opportunity to interact with the product before committing to the expense of tooling and other manufacturing processes. Assessing the form, fit and function allows deficiencies in the design to be identified early. This helps refine the design to ensure the best end product.
 

A functional prototype is also invaluable when presenting an invention to potential licensees—it demonstrates viability and greatly increases credibility.

I can print directly from your design or help create a 3D model from your sketches. Using a Prusa i3 MK3s, I can print in a wide range of materials, even combining flexible and rigid materials in a single print. 3D printing opens the door to new design possibilities.
